Another blissful evening on the water
hands clutched on broken teeth
serrated gums
trying to bite till bloodshed
so that we may cry together again
The water lay still like glass
you squeezed my hand tightly
bones turned to dust
sky burning with sundown
to be alone forever
we promised with forceful regrets
pores filled with salt
mind bloated;postmortem growth
the body at the bottom of the sea
We kissed in sunset’s reflection
your taste was unfamiliar
sub-lingual ghosts
calling away your lips
chemical drenched exchanges of saliva
more salt than the deep
Startled I lifted my eyes to the horizon
land nowhere in sight
our lips begin to part
the sky turns to black
the ocean cold
we drift away
never to be found
