The Humorist Songtext - Ha Ha Tonka

The Humorist - Ha Ha Tonka

They use to call me the humorist
Of all people to call that, I never thought I was all that funny

Ain’t it entertaining
Isn’t it appealing
The thought of something’s always much better than the feeling

I used to think that they thought I was joke
You never know just what some folk might say about you

Ain’t it entertaining
Isn’t it appealing
The thought of something’s always much better than the feeling

Oh what tangled webs we weave,
Caught up each and everyone in our own individual little histories
While it’s some new fangled mystery that has us all amused
The Humorist

With my apotheosis complete,
Everyone I meet, I know, is only gonna greet a real fictional character

Ain’t it disappointing
Isn’t it revealing
The thought of something’s always much better than the feeling

Tell me how deep that river is….say Mark Twain

I’m gonna catch a comet
I know the people on it
A wave to my wife and my beautiful daughters

Oh what tangled webs we weave,
Caught up each and everyone in our own individual little histories
While it’s some new fangled mystery that has us all amused
The Humorist

Tell me how deep that river is
