Wire-Walker Songtext - Graham Greer

Wire-Walker - Graham Greer

This balance wire of life
Is a very fickle thing
You can never tell her length
Or to which side she'll swing.
Just when you think you've found
Equilibrium in the fray
She turns and sends you off another way
There will be things we should have said
Things we could've done
There were times we made a stand
When we really should have run
What's past is done and gone
And the end is too far on
To have a bearing on the things we do and say.
The only thing that we control right now
Is the step we take today.

Be mindful of the fall.
Now and then somebody slips
To find he's dangling at the end
Of failing fingertips.
But if every step is sound
A wire-walker's sure to find
That the drop is out of sight and out of mind.
There were things we could have said
Things we should've done
There will be times to make a stand;
Times to cut and run
What's past is done and gone
And the end is too far on
To have a bearing on the things we do and say
The only thing that we control right now
Is the step we take today.

Take it step by step and don't look down.
