A Town Called Desire Songtext - David Thrussell

A Town Called Desire - David Thrussell

Once upon a time there was a town called desire
And the people in that town they wanted more and more and more
They worked long hours alone in dark rooms
On gadgets that go shwing bong beep
So they could buy more gadgets that go shwik bronk kver
And the people of desire grew sad and cold
Because they forgot the things that made them happy
Like each other and the stars in the sky and the trees and the birds and bees and...
There world grew sadder and colder
Because when your forget things like each other and the stars in the sky and the trees and the birds and the bees
They go away
Because they get sad too
And the gadgets that go shrek blank prrr
Are like shimmering lollies
They make you feel better for a small short time
But then you feel much much worse
And then you need another one and then another one and then another one
And then the gadgets just like sugary lollies make you all rotten on the inside
So rotten that even the best doctor in the whole world can't make you better
And so the people of desire sat alone in the dark with their gadgets that go funk prapra derr
And they came to forget that there was ever any other way
Do you feel sorry for them?
I don't
Because they forgot the things that made them happy
Do you remember the things that make you happy?
Like each other and the stars in the sky and the trees and the birds and bees
And country music sing alongs and grassy ponds
And running through the woods with story telling sorts
And games that are never enough and all kinds of stuff
See
