Clock Games - Art Rush

Draw a line on my palm everytime I get a customer
Every time I get to five, cross the four out
And only when I get to one hundred
will I look at the clock again
I figure that way I'm bound to pass some time
Cause otherwise you'll look at the clock
Everytime two minutes have gone
And you think it's been at least twenty
It's depressing

3:20, 2hrs 40minutes to go
The lollipop man turns from stop to slow
I've still got a 15 coming up
So really it's more like 2hrs 25
It's good to be alive, even if I'm just passing time

Three, four
I should not be trying tricks to pass my shift
That is not how life should be, I don't think
I should be trying to make to the most of this
But sometimes that's just not the way it is
Got up to 37 and looked at the clock accidentally
Start again from zero
And I see vultures circling my lifeless mechanical body
And I can't help but feel like a cog sometimes
But the more I feel like a cog
The more I become one, I become

Clock games are getting me down
I should be looking up, not at the ground
I should be counting up, not counting down
Clock games are getting me down
I should be looking up, but it's hard

But can you feel the beat
Uh - can you feel the beat
Bring it on

It's good to be alive, even if I'm just passing time

Every day's a parade of nameless faces
Cards and cash and credit, eggs and lettuce
One 3 litre milk to a bag, any more would be too much
My packing has the personal touch
I've sold so many bananas
I don't know which way to jump
I'm like a one-eyed cat, scanning in a seafood store
I'm gonna scan a few months away
until I ain't no child no more

Draw a line on my palm everytime I get a customer
Every time I get to five, cross the four out
And only when I get to one hundred
will I look at the clock again
I figure that way I'm bound to pass some time
