A Crack in the Sky
Eli reads the copy of Alice in Wonderland he took from the Outsider. When he has to stop to continue with his lessons, Marilyn stayed on the bed and looked like she was reading. Eli thinks about how, when he got Marilyn, Grandfather told him that a friend of his put a chip in her brain in an illegal operation, but he has no idea what it does. Ever since, Eli has been on the lookout for abnormal behavior from Marilyn. In the next chapter, it's the anniversary of the Grand Reorganization, and all of the InfiniCorp family is going to New Washington to celebrate. Eli likes holidays the most, because then he can put away his studies and visit Grandfather.
